Bold Stripes, Pearl Earrings, and a Whole Lotta Thankfulness

Two of this season's hottest trends are bold stripes and pearls, and I am totally here for it! I love a good stripe. It's my favorite pattern. Vertical or horizontal, there's a perfect set of stripes for everyone. Pearls are just timeless. They indicate stature and grace. There is truly something to be said about a woman in pearls, and not just in her ears. Pearls are everywhere now: tops, skirts, jeans, jackets, shoes, etc. I did a slight combination of these trends for this look. Get the deets!

This dress... I HAD to have it. I got it from Zara, of course. The sleeves and collar are what caught my eye, but the stripes stole my heart. It is the perfect length and color for little old me. It buttons all the way up, which means I could possibly dub this as a structured duster deal, we'll see what I can conjure up.

These earrings are soooooo lovely. They were the last pair at Aldo, so I didn't dare think twice about grabbing them. I really wish I had a close-up picture to show you guys because they are truly heavenly. They've got a little weight on 'em, so they tend to get a little too heavy for my ears. They say "beauty is pain," right? Not really, I don't keep them in for a super long time. Just long enough for them to make a statement like the bad bishes they are!

I decided to keep my shoes and bag for this look neutral since my dress was bold. Nude two-strap heels go with just about anything. Definitely a wardrobe staple! You guys have probably seen this little clutch in the palms of some of the hottest bloggers, like Kyrzayda Rodriguez. It's the "Gaia's Ark" carry-all bag. It speaks for itself, do I even need to express my love for it? It comes in several colors and sizes and retails at $128+. I snagged mine for less from my job, Meow and Barks Boutique for $89. It's sold out now *cries*, but I listed a link to the original below.

S/O to my best friend Whitney Kerney for organizing this shoot for me. It was my birthday gift! Also, I'd like to send special thanks to Bri Hill of B. Nicole Artistry for getting up at 7:00 a.m. on a Sunday morning to beat my face. If you live in Jax and need your makeup done, give her a call! Her Instagram is linked below.

Today is Thanksgiving, my second favorite holiday after Valentine's Day because I a cornball and a sucker for love. I can't let the day go by without acknowledging what I'm thankful for. I stress the importance of thankfulness and gratitude daily because it's so easy to allow what's going wrong in life to consume you. On this day especially, let us be surrounded by family, friends, joy, love, and most importantly GOOD FOOD! Don't forget to set your scales back 10 pounds, lol. Just a little Turkey Day humor.

  1. God and the opportunity to have a growing relationship with Him.
  2. Life and health. I feel like they go together if you're trying your best every day.
  3. My entire family. All of 'em!
  4. The relationship I have with my sisters.
  5. My warm and loving home.
  6. My passion and creativity.
  7. Meow and Barks Boutique, my job and home away from home.
  8. All of my friends, near and far.
  9. My blog! My readers and followers are a part of my journey and I'm so grateful for you all.
  10. Good music. Y'all know music is medicine!
As always, thank you so much for reading. I hope you all have a safe and loving holiday.
Happy Thanksgiving!
