Comfy, Chic Vibes: Overalls & Stans

Okay, so I have a funny story to tell about this little overall dress. I was shopping a few weeks ago in H & M, and came across this super cute overall dress, right? 'Twas love at first sight! I eagerly searched the rack for my size, and boom! I grab the size 2 (yes, I know I'm tiny) and head to the fitting room. I thought it looked adorable on, so I bought it.

Days later, I went to H & M again, this time with my best friend, Whitney, who actually works there. Soooo we're circling the store, and she tells me "I have this cute dress on hold here, I have to show you!" Guess where she led me? Right over to the overall dress. I go, "Yesss, it's so cute! I bought it the other day."

The look on her face was priceless. We buy the same stuff all the time, but we also wear the same size. Apparently there was only one size two ever available in-store. So yes, the very dress that Whit placed on hold was the same one I so proudly purchased. She was like, "Oh my goodness. I can't believe you bought my dress!"

She seemed a little dispappointed, but got over it quick enough to laugh about. I was just as surprised! I felt so guilty, but also amused because it confirmed the validity of our friendship and our shared sense of style. Luckily for Whit, this dress is available online and will most likely be restocked soon in store. Keep on reading to see how I styled it below.

Overalls make me really nostalgic. They remind me of summers in Jacksonville as a kid. Ice cream cones, honey-drippers, hand drawn hop-scotch grids, swing sets, and my grandma's house. Sounds like freedom, right? That's the feel I was going for with this look, but of course I had to add a touch of chic. Sneakers were the perfect choice, plus they're always extremely comfortable. I kept things super simple by throwing on a white top with cool sleeves. This is the perfect outfit for running errands, going to school, or just chilling out on the weekend.

I figured my American Apparel "Cities" bag would add the finishing touch to this look, and it sure did. My take on the double denim trend, haha. This bag is definitely an item that I plan to keep forever! Its been a staple of mine from the moment I purchased it years ago. I can't believe the company is going away for good! I honestly don't know what I'm going to do without American Apparel. *sigh*

The tulips in these photos represent spring, because its definitely on its way.  I'm an October baby, which means I'm a direct product of the fall, but I love the fresh and new feels that come with spring. It just seems like a time to be productive. Not to mention, seeing the colors of the season change and flowers bloom puts off a really positive vibe. It's definitely one of my favorite seasons.

You guys know I think a red lip is always the move. Really it's because I've yet to master a good nude lip, but I'm working on it.  Here I'm wearing my new favorite shade of red, "Bawse Lady," by The Lip Bar. This color is amazing! The details on this look are listed below. Go for it, girl!
